The Container: A Workshop for Creating and Holding Space

This immersive afternoon workshop offers both tangible and intangible tools for cultivating and holding space—physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. Designed to support self-care and deepen personal practice, The Container invites participants into a grounded exploration of presence, reflection, and restoration.

Through a series of guided practices, we will explore:

  • Space between breaths – through Pranayama

  • Space between thoughts – through Meditation

  • Space between joints and tissues – through Gentle Asana

  • Space on the page – through Journaling

  • Space in the heart – through Sankalpa, deep Intention Setting

  • Space for each other – through the collective Container we co-create

This workshop is especially nourishing for creatives, caregivers, householders, change-makers, and anyone in the healing arts (yoga teachers, bodyworkers, therapists) seeking to integrate personal practice into everyday life. All are welcome—no prior yoga experience is necessary.

What You’ll Experience:

  • Tool Development

Learn how to define, hold, and clear space using subtle tools (stillness, observation, reflection) and physical tools (nesting, writing, sensory inputs, and personal embodiment practices).

  • Experiential Practice

Engage in guided Asana, Pranayama , and a special Mudra-based meditation to help align breath, body, and energy.

  • Restorative Integration

Conclude with a 45-minute Yoga Nidra practice to restore and reset the nervous system.

  • Take-Home Materials

Receive a printed guide summarizing the workshop's teachings and tools.

  • Supportive Resources

Participants will be provided with a notebook, pen, candle, tea, chocolate, and potentially essential oil to create a personal ritual kit.

  • Guided Journaling

Participate in structured free-writing sessions to support reflection, integration, and intention.

About the Teachers

As a yoga practitioner, perpetual student, guide and fellow being, Marlene is passionate to not only share with others what she has learned and continues to learn from the study of yoga, but to also make these teachings accessible for as many as possible. With her 200+ hours of training through Breathing Room, she offers accessible sequences for people of different ages, shapes and sizes; to come freely to their practice with their own diverse backgrounds, abilities and challenges. A desire of hers is to create, curate and cultivate community experiences through a candid approach; to celebrate all of our own inner wisdom and purpose, through mindful presence, breathwork, and thought-provoking guided meditation. She guides this with humor and humility, as well as nurturing, connection and love.

Natalie is dedicated to holding space for profound transformation, and brings a unique blend of experience to her yoga workshops. Her foundation rests on two 200-hour Yoga Teacher Trainings, one from the lush landscapes of the renowned Nexus Institute in Costa Rica and another from the nurturing environment of Breathing Room Yoga in Connecticut. Her yoga training is complemented by a degree in Cognitive Science from Yale University. Her global travels, practicing yoga across diverse cultures, have illuminated the practice's profound healing power, a truth further deepened by the unconditional love revealed in her recent transition into motherhood. Now based in South Florida, Natalie's life purpose is to guide others towards unlocking their innate capacity for healing and creative energy.
