Your Hosts
Tobie Schuerfeld, 200hr yt, MCN, & massage therapist
Tobie has her 200hr certification in an Iyengar-influenced style of yoga. She has learned from teachers such as Rodney Yee, Seane Corn, Rolf Gates, Baron Baptiste and Stephen Cope. She believes that form and alignment are the keys to freedom in the body and freedom in the breath.
Being a massage therapist for the last 22 years and holding a master’s in clinical nutrition, Tobie has a well rounded understanding of the body. Her classes are challenging and fun, while giving the students an awareness that they are ultimately their own teacher.
On retreats, Tobie brings this same depth of knowledge into a more spacious, immersive setting—where there is time to slow down, explore alignment, and truly connect to the body’s needs. Co-leading alongside Margot, she helps create a balanced and supportive experience, blending thoughtful instruction with an approachable, lighthearted energy.
Margot Broom, Owner & Founder of Breathing Room
Margot’s style of teaching comes from over 1000 hours of training in Asana, philosophy, Ayurveda, Reiki & energy work, Vinyasa, and Iyengar—among many other styles and disciplines. She has taught internationally and studied under Ali Cramer, Ruth Robbins, Nikki Costello, Judith Lasater, Rodney Yee, Brian Kest, Ellena Brower, Dana Flynn, and others.
Margot attributes her teachings to years of learning from life’s experiences of loss, love, challenge, and joy. She believes that the practices are an extension of your life and we need to meet them with dedication, grace, and humility knowing that each challenge is an opportunity to grow.
Margot’s retreats are known for striking a rare balance: thoughtfully structured yet intuitively led, allowing each participant to have their own unique experience. Through her guidance, you can expect to feel both grounded and inspired.
