May 2022

I have to say, May is one of my favorite months. I think it may have a lot to do with the unpredictability of it. Cold and rainy one day and absolutely gorgeous and warm the next. I always get a chuckle when folks express frustration about it being cold or wet right now. In the back of my mind, I’m thinking, “Yep! That’s spring in New England for ya!” And I love it. The growth that happens over these next few weeks, the pops of green more and more vibrant each day. Turning the corner and bam! An enchanting tree in full blossom and bloom! It is the perfect reminder that all things grow, in different ways and in their own time. In order to truly appreciate and enjoy it all, we need patience and a willingness to be fully in it. In the shifts, in the changes, in the warmth as well as the wet, no matter how lovely or uncomfortable they may be.

Often with the emergence of spring comes an energy and excitement for what comes next, and a push towards it. A rushing- if you will- past the cold and wet and into the excitement of warmth and sun and what's next. But just like the proverb says- the shoots will not grow faster if they are pulled- time will not speed up if you rush it. So patience, my friends, patience is my mantra this month. I am mindfully practicing not pulling, not pushing. I am just carrying on doing the work that is before me now, watching it evolve, shift, change, and grow in its own time. It is really easy for me to become impatient and try and push past an uncomfortable stage of growth, especially if I know that what is next will be beautiful and light. But I know it is a necessary part of my evolution.

So I invite you to quite literally stop and smell the flowers. Feel the cool rain on your skin and remind yourself it is all part of the growth that is unfolding within and all around you.

In the center, you will see some shifts and changes happening over this month and next as our downsize into 216 Crown is in full swing. I am really excited about this “new space” we are creating for you and am really happy about the new design elements that will be woven in as part of BR’s evolution.

In this process, I am selling a lot of materials, furniture, and so forth so please take a look around the studio or check our social media. It makes me happy to know community members will have a little piece of BR in their homes!

As always, I am grateful for you all. Enjoy the spring and all that comes along with it!
