COMMUNITY SERVICE
Infinite Well Open-room Acupuncture is a community clinic, which is designed to bring affordable and effective acupuncture to downtown New Haven. Treatments are provided for a sliding scale of a minimum payment of $20 per treatment and/or up to whatever a person can afford. There is an additional one time (initial intake) fee of $20.

The affordable rates are possible because, instead of treating in private rooms, Boaz treat a number of people in a shared open-room. Similar to Private-room Acupuncture, each person receives an individualized treatment, which is designed to meet their specific needs. The atmosphere in the Open room is quiet and calming. And some individuals may fall asleep (perfectly OK) or find themselves in a meditative state once the needles are inserted.

While Open-room Acupuncture, where multiple treatments are provided in a shared room has long been common in Asia, it has only become popular in the U.S.A. over the past few years.

The affordability of Open-room Acupuncture enables people to receive more frequent treatments, which are often needed for achieving better results. As well, people also like the option of receiving treatments together with their spouse, family, and friends.

HOW DOES IT WORK
After a brief intake, individuals are taking off their shoes and socks, roll up their sleeves above the elbows and knees and lie down. Next, Boaz will determine a selection of acu-points usually located on the arms, legs and ears. The locations of the selected acu-points are swabbed with alcohol followed by the insertion of the thin acupuncture needles (sterile, disposable and for a single use only). Individuals are then asked to relax for about 40 to 60 minutes, which thereafter the needles are removed.
